Something new.... for me.

These are my first birds in flight shots.. more or less. I'm vacationing in Portugal and shot these birds sitting on the edge of a clff on continuous shooting... which also I've never done.

Larus michahellis (Yellow-legged gull).

I started taking bird photos last August and once you learn the technique (camera gear, settings, and luck) the photos improve with time. Of course, that doesn't mean EVERY photo is epic.

Great job trying something new...Next months challenge is:

"Photographing A Wedding of Someone You Don't Know"

Yipe! What a challenge! I'll pass! :-)

Oh, I just aimed and put it on continuous shooting!

Ha, perhaps you could kick that challenge off Dean? I’m sure others would follow your lead.

Hey, it’s great to see people trying new things, and thanks for sharing your experiences with the group.
I’ve never tried capturing shots of birds to this degree, and haven’t had much success with them overall.

Just a suggestion if you’re still on location- how about trying some longer exposures to try and capture the essence of flight?
Just something else to consider.

If I go up to the cliffs again, I'll try.

That last one is beautifully composed. Good job! Also nice work on something new. I've only ever been able to do birds at rest. Have a great rest of your vacation!

Thanks! I'll sure try!
