I tried cropping in a bit and bringing up contrast etc to see what difference this might offer, but I'm not sure if it says anything different to your original image.
Well, the reason I didn't do it like yours is because I like the white border of the curb on the top, the brown right bottom corner breaks up the monotony as well as the single brown leaf of the same size at the left bottom third of the photo. And I didn't even notice that single brown leaf until you got rid of it!
At first glance I thought it was a high up image of Lilly pads on a pond surface. It’s really nice.
