A local photography group I belong to had the opportunity to play around with the Omni Creative Filter system from Lensbaby...which so happens to be manufactured locally.
https://lensbaby.com/products/omni-creative-filter-system
The first one was using their full system, but I didn't find it useful on a wide-angle lens 15-35mm w/82mm filter thread, however it worked great handheld for a phone capture...albeit it is a bit of a challenge holding the phone and filter while trying to touch the front of the phone to activate the shutter. 5-second shutter to the rescue.
These were shot using either the crystal prism or crystal pendant.
Just checked out the link. The system creates interesting effects with a variety of creative possibilities. Is it the filter what causes the colors to pop or was that in post? Also, other than the challenge of juggling phone, shutter, and filter, what do you think about the effect results.
The products are very esoteric and I see the Omni system, with it's price in the range of $300 as I can't see someone piece-meal the kits as you don't know what each filter does until it is in front of the lens.
All photos were shot with the glass prism/wand except #4 which was a gel filter.
For editing: Exposure, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, and Blacks. A couple also had Dehaze increased a bit.
It's had to tell without seeing comparisons with/without the filter system but on first glances the filters in general appear to add a softness/glow to the images.
Were all these shot on a phone? One tip on the phone shutter release - I have been using a recently purchased camera grip (see my blog entry https://www.alanbrownphotography.com/blog/snapgrip-pro-review) for triggering the shutter via Bluetooth.
This can be done with the grip attached to the camera (for a much better camera phone experience), or even remotely.
Other remotes provide this option, but this one has performed way better than another I have purchased in the past.
Thanks for testing this out and sharing results with others.
Photo 1 was shot on an Canon R5, the rest were shot on a phone.
I have found my touchscreen erratic in shutter activation. User error most likely. I like "your" solution.
