Moving on form the pics taken at the beach I have been trying to expand on a project.
The project in my mind is to try and expand the followICM technique to include multiple subjects/elements, moving in different direction or speed to add dynamic motion to the image.
My first idea was to capture the flow of people at busy places/intersections. To broaden the scope I am now simply including shots with more than one moving element. I feel this helps convey a wider story.
I have included an array of some of my favorite results for review. As always, feedback (good or bad) from the group would be really helpful and appreciated, especially to gain an understanding of what may/may not appeal to others.
Thanks in advance!
I think you nailed followICM.
What my eye is attracted to are the photos where there is a outstanding color or balance of colors. But, every photo is a piece of Art.
What I appreciate about your work is the thought and attention to detail in every one, definitely not a PS Action and call it "good enough".
Thanks for your kind and generous response Dean.
I WILL say that through experimentation and failure I do now have a much better sense of what to look for when capturing these, and have a greater awareness of all elements within the frame.
As perhaps you alluded to, I do spend an amount of time working through those that have potential, but for every one that makes it there are a large number that simply don't work.
You're right that including more than one moving element conveys a broader story. It's like you've taken the impressionistic art style of landscapes and everyday life to the streets and conveyed all the busyness of the big city. Your building on your "humanessence" with human forms as a group. I like all of these individually. Will you be blogging on this subject in the future?
"Will you be blogging on this subject in the future?"
Yes...inquiring minds want to know.
As with Jenny, I will be blogging on this at some point. I can announce it in the group if desired.
I had planned to post this as a 'first look' blog entry, explaining my thought process, experiences and presenting a variety of images. Is there anything else your inquisitive mind would like added?
Thanks Jenny.
This has been a project I have been undertaking for a while now, with a hope of getting enough decent shots to create a blog entry.
I may do this in the next week or two, if not then after I return from a trip to NYC at the end of the month.
