In line with the theme of minimalism....
I find this one of the more difficult genre to master. I was aiming for an abstract approach with this image and only afterwards appreciated it's minimalistic appearance as well...

Down on the waterfront this morning, tide was out, Heron were sitting along the water fishing. There was a boat coming across the water from Bremerton heading into Port Orchard.
These owls are very vocal, and they certainly do sound just like dogs barking.
Glad I was already in my car before the heavens opened. It went incredibly dark, but it didn't last for very long, and the sun was soon out again.

Hi Mike! Though you say you find this genre difficult to master, you've nailed it - both genres, in fact - in this image. Beautiful. To my eye, the balance in this composition is perfect - you have the thorn poking into that chartreuse void just the right amount. Love it!
Looking at your reinstated portfolio as well as this, you have an eye for composition, and more besides.

The thorn is a great minimalistic photo. The red thorn is the only item which stands out. All the rest just supports. Snd the green to dsrk transition keeos my eyes in the frame. Very well done!
