I just want to make others aware of a new blog entry I have posted. This includes a video from the 'Photographic Eye' and deals with how to deal with negativity.
I feel strongly about not allowing feedback of any sort over-influence the work we produce, and Alex (Kilbee) does a great job of providing insights and strategies of coping.
I think this pertinent to the group as often the (experimental) work we do falls out of the standard rule sets, and leaves the door wide open for criticism.
Kilbee's comments are almost always interesting.
I had someone once claim this photo was horrible because it was in Black and White and I shouldn't listen to all my teachers in whatever community college I went to.
I only replied that at 6:45 am in February there isn't any color. Never heard anything else.
Gonna watch the video now and see how I did. 😂
I love this shot, I love that YOU chose to do it in b&w, and I love your response. Did you at least give kudos to your local community college whether you went there or not? Lol! Seriously, this is a really captivating photo!
Enjoyed this new blog post very much. Thank you for the reminder, Alan. As I commented on the actual post, I think we need this as a reminder every so often sort of like a sign on the side of the road. Nice photo, by the way. What's the story behind it - ICM?
Thanks Jenny, I had to remind myself of the photo I had added.
Yes, this is just another ICM image, just throwing it in there as I may not post elsewhere.
I think we all need to remember that people can have different opinions, and accept that none are right or wrong.
Since we're talking criticism, allow me to say I absolutely hate this flower photo. And when I say hate, I mean love. Banger and wall hanger Alan.
Ha thanks Robert. I was about to say I respect your opinion but then got drawn to your follow up.
Thanks for your kind words.
