New camera!

After a nice little windfall buying and selling some camera equipment, I was able to purchase a full frame camera - again. A new FF sensor is better than an old APS-C! (Geez, Fstoppers, there's no a7C on your list of equipment as well as my new Sigma lens.)

Here are some shots.

I'll be traveling again and then, my time here will be even more limited. I'll probably be poking my head in here once in a blue moon but doubt I'll be posting any photos in the future.

Congratulations, Charles! I love #s 3 & 4 - colors, shapes, textures, and lines all work well together. Hope you enjoy your travels! Look forward to hearing how it's going when you're able to pop in.

Thanks! The light was just amazing on those photos. I couldn't have seen them at a better time of day.

Thanks for posting Charles, and LUCKY YOU! I can't wait to see what your new camera produces.

Hopefully your travels will provide plenty of opportunities. Pop in when you can - we always appreciate your engagement and hearing of your journeys.

Ouch!
I think what Alan maybe means is... I can't wait to see what YOU create with your new camera. 🤣
How cool Charles!
I'm looking forward to seeing what new creative ideas you explore and yes please keep on sharing your discoveries with us.
Happy New Year!

Thanks, guys. Okay, I'll make an effort since you'd like that. That's what I do on my vacation trips, I come into a city or town, select a destination/sight or two and walk there and back looking for shots. In riding the buses and subs, you miss so much!

There is more periphery equipment listed than actual camera bodies and lenses.

1st photo captures the essence of how snow melts in a shaded area.

The 2nd photo...is that Lavender? I can almost smell the leaves.

In your 3rd photo, I like the feet print both two and four legged.

What I really like about your 4th photo is it could almost pass as a satellite photo.

Inclement weather indeed! Where I live contains 18% grey scale skies 24 hours a day. And rain.

Thanks. It's sage. And nope, those aren't footprints. Like the 4th photo shows (because it's so dry), the brown leaves absorb heat and melt the surrounding snow.

What happens is that after the leaf melts all the way through, the ice is less thick so it starts melting a larger area. The reason the ones above don't is because they don't get quite as much sunshine as you can see the shadows of the surrounding rock.
