I am amateur photographer who rents out lights to a local videographer and occasionally gets paid for shooting B-Roll.
I have an X-H1 and X-E1. My fiance nixxed me getting red badge lenses so will be getting cheaper glass for now and going for the good stuff in a few years, once we are in a house.

Glass are excpensiv! The first 3-4 years I had the XC-zooms and vintage lenses. I cm really recommend an cheap M42 to Fuji X adapter and buy some cheap old manual lenses. Then you can get f1.4 and so for a very cheap price. They are not supersharp. But they are cheap and gives a nice DOF :)

I have the XC 16-50 II, a Meike 35 1.7, Rokinon 12mm 2.0 and awaiting a Jupiter 8 and Helios 44.
Probably going to get the xc 50-230 ii then either rokinon or vintage telephotos with faster apertures

True. I survived for a long time with an Eos 30D and a nifty fifty. Thats getting shipped to my nephew. His first camera thats not a smart phone.
Hey Sadie. I would go with the f2 primes not much money and you'd have a kit you wouldn't have to upgrade.
