Hi guys,
I'm Stanley i'm french photographer and love the mirrorless systems which is completely what i want for my uses. I started with micro 4/3 and the GX7 which i loved so much.
Since i get some trouble with quality details and also noise, i switch for the Sony A7R (i had an amazing deal from my french store FNAC - 999€ all includes).
I create this post to get your feedback on any Sony E-mount and try to fix some problems with maybe tips and tricks for others users :)
Let's start with what i love :
- Light
- ergonomics buttons
- sony menu is ok for me i can do a lot advanced settings
- quality of pictures
- evf is so much better than the GX7 and completely good for me
- battery is ok for my uses even i got 2 batteries i think it's normal for any photographers who want to avoid any low batterie in front of beautiful landscapes ^^
- lenses proposes from sony or zeis are enough and ok now : i use 24-70mm F4, 55mm 1.8 and 35mm 2.8
Now with problems i got with the sony A7R
- long time to launch i do my best with the latest firmware it's still slow and sometimes the lcd doesnt display something til 4sec full seconds ...
- LCD show me some bandings effects with special low light landscapes or situations (that you dont get when you edit your RAW)
- change lenses i know it s like nothing but i dont like the way it built, not easy at all, i used to do it with one hand and with sony i have to use both
- i got some problems with Focus peaking in low light i'm using the zoom effect mode to be sure i get what i want because i get so much blurred shots with AF but even in manual mode and focus peaking isnt accurate as my previous GX7
- AF is slow and not very accurate even when you think you got your subject
- AE is slow too when i'm using spot exposure and want to get it a little bit darker or lighter i dont like so much the way it works
Here are my thoughs about my camera. Even if i like it i get some troubles with, i know new series didnt get this issues ) (or less :p)
Can't wait to read guys !
