I found this chrysalis attached to a Pipe Vine plant in my yard. I removes a section of the stem on which it was attached and used a clamp to position it in front of a piece of photo backdrop paper. I then placed a "White Lightning" strobe with soft box attached above it. For three days I checked the chrysalis every couple of hours. Finally the butterfly emerged, and I took a series of 34 photos of the complete process. This is one photo of that series. Nikon F100, Nikon 105 macro, Velvia film. 2002?
