The sound that these waves made was just as epic as the sight they made when they slammed into the rocks at Mile Rock Beach in San Francisco. If you look closely, you can see that a starfish is clinging to that smaller rock towards the middle of the frame. I sure hope he's enjoying the ride!
I used a circular polarizer for this shot to make the most out of that blue in the sky and to boost the contrast. I had the camera mounted on a tripod with a cable trigger, so all I really had to do was just wait for the right wave to show up!

Yes I see the sea star on the rock it's not going anywhere till it's really to. Have you ever tried harvesting sea life off those rocks they are anchored and some delicious.
