When I began a recent portrait project I became addicted to the challenge of attempting to draw out deeper layers of my subjects to be both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Incredibly that task seems to be easier with "regular" people than with those that are trained to the camera. When I asked Ethan to sit I thought getting the shot would be a no brainer. Instead I found his practice in front of the camera kept him guarded and shelled. It took some time, but we were finally able to meet each other on the other side through shared experiences and the love of watching the sunset from the back of a pickup truck.
