Julian Ray's picture

Still And Motion -All In The Same Time and Space.

I love how the juxtaposition of stark static lines and vibrant mobility are present all at the same time and place!….

“When taking a photo, I tend to look for one of the following: depth, symmetry, color or contrast. All of those things catch my eye to the point where I stop dead in my tracks to capture whatever it is that I've seen.”

Powerful graphic forms with your usual eye for composition, Julian. Love the colour contrast. Is that a train? Hard to work out what the moving object is in such an apparently narrow gap.

I've always been most engaged and intrigued by images that collaborate. That is to say, that tell a story but not so explicitly that there is no room for the viewer to participate in that story.
When an image makes room for the viewer to bring their own interpretation, feelings, history, and creative bent into the images' story then that image becomes more.
So it is with this example. What it "is" is up to you! :-D
Once again Chris, thanks for your kind words.

Tease! But that's OK. ;-)

A bit of mystery can be a good thing.
