It is quite possible that photo is straight out of camera, and he didn't want to photoshop it. I like the realism of it. Not to say that your opinion is wrong, but that some prefer to capture it all in camera.

A valid artistic choice, for sure. Just my personal preference for more contrast on this one.
i don't really edit my images apart from cropping, would say 99% is straight out the camera
That is exactly what I thought. :) I like your style by the way. I was once told that I was too "photojournalistic" and not enough artistic.
Great photo. It would have a lot more impact if you cropped it right below the "Billy".
