Pe'epe'e Falls

Heavy rain in Hilo over this past weekend caused river to levels to rise and massive flooding in lowland areas. Here are some photos of Wailuku river. Pe’epe’e falls lies in an area of Wailuku know as Boiling Pots this area is a popular local swimming place but it’s also a very dangerous place to swim. Wai’ale falls is also a local swimming area that lies in Piihonua along Wailuku river. These two popular swimming locations are a sight to see but definitely not worth the risk to swim or get anywhere near especially after a downpour of rain. Wailuku river is the longest river in the state of Hawaii and it is one of the most dangerous. Wailuku in English is “River of destruction” so if you are thinking about swimming just remember that.

There are fans of smooth flowing water and others that like more definition. In this case I like the effect you’ve captured.
