Taking during the first month of the Covid pandemic. As director of this Dialysis Unit we needed to improvise safety measures since recommendations were not out yet. I take these photos in a empty office of the dialysis unit . It has a tall window looking at the parking lot, reflecting indirect natural light. I usually have a dialysis staff hold a small portable black backdrop. I have some of my patients volunteer as models for these portraits. These are some of the beautiful people I have the privilege of taking care of who face needing dialysis to live every day of their lives.
