Teardrop of winter

Of late signs of spring have finally emerged. I noticed a robin on our grass yesterday, grass I hadn't seen in months because of the snow. The air is warmer, the days longer and so I hiked a path in Ogden, not far from home all but alone the entire time. Much snow was still there, especially in the shadows but it was all starting to melt. And the water in the streams was powerful and loud, the only sound I could hear. As the hour grew late and I started my descent a flash of light caught my eye. Curious, I scrambled beneath some branches and there it was, a glistening diamond crafted by nature gently swaying in the breeze...a teardrop of winter.
