It's a bump or mound a mushroom make in the earth just before sprouting. The large the mushroom the more obvious the bump/mound or s'srump.
No I have tried any of these kits. I image it all depends on the species. Some farmed mushrooms are great but after trying farmed Chantelles and giving them a couple of tries I'll only give a framed exotic one try. Still got lots to learn about them and respecting them as far as the knowledge and wisdom they posses.
