Edwin, congratulations in your wonderful discovery/revelation but now the sad part is it’s not a constant / guaranty or as to if anyone has ever figured out the riddle of this magical “after storm lighting effect”. Yet after a storm is the only time I and other photographers’ have experienced this magic.
So, stay vigilant, with gear at hand for the next passing storm and possibly another encounter with this magic lighting effect, good luck.

Edwin, sure, you’re welcome. Just wanted to share/confirm your real world realization/discovery. Experience is the best teacher that can’t be express enough these days of the internet. Don’t waste to much time online looking for this lighting effect you probably wouldn’t find anything but you experienced it, and you know it exists. What do they say, “can’t believe everything online”. Well there are some topics online you can’t believe anything. Do a quick search for “Alpine Glow”. Most everything you will find refers it as last (first) light ray effect on high mountain peaks, not so and those who have witness it know that’s not true, and at best this is a poor explanation at best. Check out the book by photographer Galen Rowell titled “Mountain Light” for example and other stuff. Cheers
