Dies Irae - Day of Wrath

Dies irae -the Day of Wrath is a 13th century musical sequence frequently used in movies and compositions to instill a sense of terror and impending doom. The sequence appears in music by Mahler, Berlioz, Rachmaninoff and others as well in multiple horror movie sound tracks.

The image is a composite of a nighttime thunderstorm processed and recolored in Photoshop and an image of Epstein’s statue of St. Michael at the entrance of Coventry Cathedral in England.
