Ha ha, yes - I do know what you mean. I never felt at all nervous in Cuba, in fact one time there I made drinking buddies with two big black Cubanos and we went just about everywhere. Unlike Colombia where I engaged a private boyguard and even so never carried a camera. Or another time in the south where I walked at night alone and needed a change of underwear after.
He would have never charged you had you worn a Che Guevara T-shirt...and if you had screamed out loudly, " VIVA LA REVOLUCION " he would have given you a free tour of Cuba in his classic Chevy...
