Cape Disappointment Sunrise

It appeared my only unplanned, improvisational side-trip to photograph the monumental crashing waves of Cape Disappointment would indeed disappoint. After all, there were a couple of apartment-building size waves that taunted me while I was fumbling to set up on the precarious logs that border the water - then nothing much more dynamic than what you would see at your local swimming pool for the remainder of the morning. Shortly after the sun peaked out, though, the sometimes unjust Photo Gods threw me a reason to believe again with one or two semi-dramatic waves lit by the heavenly morning light. Certainly not the most grandest of waves captured in this little Washington state cove, but something to inspire hope...
