Texas Rose

This was shot back in September 2014 in Mission TX after some heavy rainfall, well at least for this area. One of the biggest challenges to deal with were the sheer amount of mosquitoes there.

I was hoping to get to the location while there was plenty of sunlight, but due to some unforeseen circumstances we got there with less than 45 minutes of light. Normally that isn't a issue but the mosquitoes made it very difficult to walk through the tall brush without getting swarmed.

The image was shot with the use of 1 Einstein and my X-Pro1 with the 35mm 1.4 lens. I had an assistant boom the light right over her inside of an umbrella softbox. Unfortunately, I don't remember the power setting other than it being pretty low. There were a couple of good shots I got with the waning sunlight, but I think this was the best right after it had set.

This was my first shoot working with a stylist and MUA/Hair stylist and it makes a huge difference. The concept is just so much easier to get across.
