Erich Caparas
Born in the Philippines but grew up in Northern Virginia /Washington DC area. Degree in Economics and Engineering. Professionally, worked as a graphics designer/photographer in Washington DC and New York. Started 1977. Did all my film processing and darkroom work.
Was lucky to be on the forefront of the digital age in the '80s. Had an opportunity to work with some of the best clients in the industry: National Geographic, Mobil, Smithsonian Institution, Discovery Channel, Victoria Secret, Ringling Brothers / Barnum and Bailey, Siegfried and Roy, and the White House.
I kept my techniques and skills up to date and I share my 42 years of experience in photography on workshops. “I travel around the world teaching both amateur and professional photographers take their photography to the next level.” Most of my students are master photographers.

World Photographic Cup 2019 - Team USA. Won a Gold medal for Portrait, Drammen, Norway
PPA - Grand Imaging Award 2019 – 1st Place Pets

Took 5 trophies at the Prestigious WPPI Print Competition in Las Vegas, Mar 2019
World Photographic Cup Champion 2018 - Team USA. Won a Silver medal for Portrait and finalist for Wedding, Sydney, Australia
