The last few critiques have been all about complex lighting, but for this critique, we want to keep things simple. Show us your best minimalistic photos.

Each photographer is allowed to submit up to three different images. Only images with a short description will be chosen. Let us know your concept, and how you pulled it off. The highest-rated image and one random image will receive a free tutorial from the Fstoppers Store

Anyone who gets their feelings hurt over a community rating will be disqualified.

I have a question. I made a mistake by submitting the wrong photo, can I change it?

You can submit up to 3.

Thank you fort your short time answer. I did submit three but can I delete one and change it though? Is it possible? So do I break any rule?

Yes you can delete one or multiple images and submit new ones. It is done often enough, no problem.

Ok thanks so I’ll try different options

Coz I read that anyone that gets their feelings hurt by voting will be disqualified. So deleting a photo might be on that side though. If not I’ll be very happy

Top right hand corner of the image. There should be 3 dots.

Thanks Eddie. I have done it few times. Although I’m very new to Fstoppers

Welcome to the community, Edrin!

Thank you Thomas, I’m very happy to be here also so afraid coz most of the guys are amazing and I’m so far away from you. But I’m trying

I’m new to this community and I want to know that how is to have 2stars photo votes in the contests? Coz at the beginning I’m really near to 3 star than everything drops down to 2 or better lower than 2 than at the end goes to 2. To make it short is ok to have 2 stars votes and is it hard to have 3 stars photos?

Here, 3 stars is considered to mean that your picture is “solid” enough to be a good addition to a professional portfolio, and presumably typically quite a good one. It is quite demanding. 4 stars are quite uncommon (in the show, the presenters give just a few in each episodes among a selection of 10 submissions among the bests), 5 is rare.
In other words, 3 stars is real good. And 2 isn't necessarily bad. It is common to have, in the end, the best-rated picture at something like 3.2–3.3, and even sometimes bellow 3.
Also, know that it is typically considered that during these contests, people tend to underrate the images.
(And keep in mind that my explanations are based on the ratings as used on the show as I assume most people would use that as a reference; but individual users can be more or less demanding for “portfolio ready”, or not apply the same rating.)
If you want a good idea of how your pictures compare to others, don't hesitate to go check other pictures' ratings, or watch the show for examples of what can keep a picture away from a 3.

I had this idea also but thanks you were very clear. Also I know that i have some 3 stars contests photos but not so much for this theme. And I have to learn more about post processing. I had a gallery photo rated 4 and I have more like that. But I’m not a pro. I have so much in-front to achieve.

In addition to Paul's solid explanation of how ratings typically go, some people will vote an image one star if they do not consider it in keeping with the contest theme. Even if we all know in general what minimalism is, everyone is going to have a slightly different idea about the specifics.

Yes I did that myself. I submitted different kinds of shots and a lot didn’t work

When's the live with the results? I tried to find some information on that, I couldn't find anything. I always miss the lives. 😩

I’m so new and I have to read about. What are the lives?

After those contests, 10 pictures (including the highest rated one) are selected by the guys from the F-Stoppers channel and discussed in a “Critique the community” live/video on the “Fstoppers Live” Youtube channel. They give their comments and their own ratings. Usually, a prize goes to the highest rated image, as well as one of the 9 other selected pictures (randomly).

anywhere between now, a few days, or 6-7 months from now. hard to tell. They don't have a schedule for this at least, and I don't think they do any announcements on when they are planning to go live.

And, as nice as it is to watch it all live, there is very little, to almost no interaction with the chat. So watching the stream after is the same as watching it live.

It is tomorrow (not sure of the exact time )

Thanks for selecting my image :) ( water drop) ☺️

Although my shot wasn't selected for the critique, the community rated my hummingbird shot 4th with a rating or 3.03. Thank you.
