-A minimalist take of a could've been more more minimalist residential complex by Le Corbusier in Berlin-

Corbusierhaus in Berlin, Germany | Sometime June 2021

Some Background/History:

This residential building of Le Corbusier was part of the IBA1957 (International Architectural Exhibition), and was intended to be built at the Hansaviertel -- where residential complexes by many other renowned architects (Oscar Niemeyer, Werner Düttmann among others) were planned. The development of Hansaviertel, which was largely demolished in the aftermath of the war, was to become an antithesis of the Karl-Marx allee of East-Berlin.
However, because of it's excessive size, the Corbusierhaus was constructed, stranded at the western edge of the city.
The original minimalist imagination (for the lives of inhabitants) of Le Corbusier in his residential Unité d'Habitation buildings first crashed against the German bureaucracy of "the way of doing things here" and was eventually shattered, by losing some of its major elements: from the original height of the floors to the school & kindergarten, shared spaces and supermarket that had to be incorporated within the building.
