New Canon Flagship Camera to be Annouced as the EOS-1D X Price Drops

The EOS-1D X DSLR has been Canon's flagship camera since its release in March 2012. It started with a hefty price tag of $6,799.00 and has since seen a price drop to $5,299.00 and most recently down to $4,599.00. With it's $700 price drop and additional B&H freebies: SanDisk 32GB Extreme Pro CompactFlash Memory Card (160MB/s)Ruggard Navigator 55 DSLR Shoulder Bag and Vello Wireless ShutterBoss Timer Remote or Adoramas's offer of an additional Canon LP-E4N battery pack and Lexar Pro 1066x CompactFlash Card the Canon EOS-1D X has never looked so sexy.

Please, learn the difference between it's and its.

Bullshit. Some people prefer to read articles without spelling and grammar errors. It only takes a few moments to proofread an article, yet that step seems to be skipped by the very same people who will spend hours retouching an image.

Without your astute observation, I never would have understood that the author meant "it's" in its possessive form. This completely discredits anything put forth by the author, and I will be filing a formal complaint to the Commission of Bitter People. You have added substance to this article in both an insufferable and inconsequential way, and I thank you.

Geez, I'd hate to see how you'd react if someone was critical of you, given that you get so defensive over something like this.

This site has some very informative, yet poorly-written articles. Given the amount of ads, I'm sure that Lee and whoever else run it might make a few bucks off it. Yet they can't be bothered to take have someone proofread what gets published. It's annoying when you can't even get through the first sentence without some glaring error.

If you take pride in your photography, why not take pride in your writing too? or shud we jst all rite lik were txting? idk

You were critical of the author about an error that had no bearing on the information, while not adding anything else of relevance in your comment.

That's not a very courteous thing to do.

Actually, that was rather polite. If Mr. Tam is going to continue to be a "writer", then it would behoove him to learn the difference.

You're missing my point. Saying something politely is not the same as being polite.

There is a private message system built into the Fstoppers profiles.

It works better for matters that are irrelevant to the content of an article (Your correction contributes neither to the clarity, nor scope or brevity of the initial information).

Thank you, Miss Manners. May I be excused now?

Hey, you're the one who keeps popping your head back into the room. You've been free to go this entire time.

I signed up to this site just to tell you you sound like a pretentious jerk Prefers Film.

The difference between the possessive and the contraction are not lost on me but it always surprises me how easy it is for one’s mind to fill in what it sees vs what the eye does. So much so that I’ve even left out entire words from a sentence because my brain filled in the gaps despite the absences. That being said thanks for the correction if not the condescending manner in which it was delivered.

Kenn, it wasn't meant to be condescending. Sometimes I'm a bit spare with niceties when replying on my phone. For this I do apologize. That said, are you going to correct the other two?

omfg!

lol, I just got home from my shoot and almost fell over reading this. Done and done. Thanks PF.

OMGERDDD I REFUSE TO READ THIS ARTICLE TILL THEY FIX THE ITS PLZZZZ

Wow, what craziness over a typo - I have an English degree, but I'm not going to sweat this stuff. I can't believe what an amazing deal this is on the 1D X, however. I bought one for nearly $2k more than this just over a year ago and it's such an incredible camera that I sold my 5D Mark III and just have a little EOS M & adapter as my back up now. The huge battery capacity, great build quality, viewfinder shutter, high ISO, and all of the other small but great 1-series features make this a killer camera.

Beyond the spec sheet, it's just a pleasure to shoot with and that means the most to me.

I covet the Canon 1DX. Can I afford it? Hell no! I'm happy that I got a full-frame camera that shoots 6 fps, the 5D Mk III. When evaluating DSLR cameras the 5D Mk III matched the fps of my film Canon's A-1 and F-1N with their respective motor drives.
