Helpful Advice for Young and Budding Photographers

Are you a young and budding photographer, looking for your way in a complex world with numerous paths available to you? This fantastic video tutorial features an experienced photographer critiquing a range of images and offering some valuable advice along the way.

Coming to you from Ted Forbes with The Art of Photography, this insightful video features several critiques of photographers' images and important advice for young photographers along the way. If I had to give one piece of advice to a young creative, it would be to stay true to yourself. If you hop on Instagram or the like and search for a common hashtag, you are likely to see hundreds or even thousands of extremely similar shots. It can be tempting to emulate those images because they are what is popular at the moment, but rarely (if ever) is that as fulfilling as developing your own style. And if you turn this into a career, instead of having a uniquely identifiable style that helps to set your work apart from the rest of the crowd, you'll be competing with many other similar creatives and constantly chasing the latest trend. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Forbes.

Budding, sure, but I fail to see how age has anything to do with this. Is relative youth somehow a prerequisite for this sort of advice?
