The 24K Gold Lens You Cannot Buy

Usually, companies create lenses they would very much like to sell you, particularly if they only make lenses. However, TTArtisan's special edition 35mm f/1.4 isn't for sale, which works perfectly on me, as now I want it more than I ever would have.

I have an odd obsession with cameras these days. Or rather, my obsession with cameras has evolved into something odd. I used to pixel-peep and scroll through spec sheets, comparing every little stat. Now, I could barely care any less how many megapixels the latest body has. I have a handful of features I need, the rest of the decision-making process falls on how the camera feels to shoot with, which is influenced by how the images look on the back of the camera as I shoot them.

I then have a bizarre penchant for camera gear I don't have all that much interest in actually using, which is probably where this 24k gold TT Artisan lens lands. Any rare, special edition, or quirky lens of camera body, I'm curious. This inexplicable interest is best exemplified by a recent purchase of mine: the original Lytro light field camera.

If, like me, you're drawn to the interesting and the pointless, perhaps a thinly gold-plated TTArtisan prime will pique your curiosity.
