Erika at the window

I'm fascinated by the light of the great classical painters. This shot of Erika was done in natural light at a window on an overcast day. We wrapped a soft cotton scarf around her head to give that Renaissance feel. Then it was a matter of waiting for her to get into her "zone". I often ask my models to close their eyes for a minute or so and to breathe quietly. I shoot these in complete silence, with as little distraction as possible. When the model is ready, she opens her eyes and I take a single shot.

Beautiful. Intentional or not, there is a unique wax figure look to her. Very interesting.

Thanks Alexander. The makeup and look were very carefully planned to give this particular effect.
