Heart of the Arizona Strip, Northern Arizona

This term "Arizona Strip" is unfamiliar to many, even life long residence of the state and most other people unless they have been there. Even me, while visiting the Grand Canyon (south rim) gave little thought to the state or for that what lay further north of the Colorado River below and the rim on the other side of the canyon. Years late I became aware of the vast part of Arizona north of the Grand Canyon. The Arizona Strip locally refers to the north west corner separated from the rest of the state by the Colorado River to the Utah and Nevada state lines. An area I'm told about the size of the state of Massachusetts.
