The other side of Death Valley

Wondering in Golden Canyon one day I was exploring some of the many side canyons when I came across this scene.
The interesting part is that shortly after receiving this film back from the lab I found a new publication “Ansel Adams in Color”. As a fan I might not of pick up the book being fairly familiar with his work. But, don’t think I’d had ever seen any of his work in color, let alone aware he’d ever shot in color. So I picked it up and began to browse through it. Hey, wait, I was just there. And there on page 43 (artistic licensing) was a near identical composition to the image I have posted here.

My only wish is that I was packing my 4x5 and I made one in Black & White ;)

And please respect the earth; Leave No Trace. these hills are delicate and fragile.
