Inner Canyon Rim to Rim

I have heard the Grand Canyon referred to as a great layer cake of geologic time.
Over the years of visiting this popular location within the Grand Canyon. I have played with this theme “Rim to Rim”. One of the most narrow expansive at one, to one and a half miles (1.6 - 2.4 km). On this day what caught my eye(s) were the lateral lines of two rims, mountain slope and sky. The foreground rim shrouded in chaparral almost mirrors the cloud filled sky. Creating a layering of elements in real time rather than geologic time (zeptosecond in geologic time ;).
