Can the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR Do It All?

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR offers just about all the focal lengths a person could want in one package, making it an intriguing option for a wide range of users, particularly landscape and travel photographers. Can it deliver good results, though? This excellent video review takes a look at the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this great video review takes a look at the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR lens. At $1,300, the lens promises to replace several in your bag and comes with a nice range of features, including:

  • Image Stabilization: 5.5-stop VR image stabilization
  • STM stepping motor for quick and precise autofocus
  • Compact and Lightweight: 1.6 lbs (726 g)
  • Design: 21 elements in 15 groups, including specialized elements to minimize aberrations and deliver sharp shots
  • 9-bladed diaphragm for smoother bokeh
  • Zoom lock switch prevents unwanted lens extension during transport
  • Included square lens hood
  • Weather-sealed construction
  • 77mm filter thread
  • Minimum focusing distance of 7.9" at 28mm

While you always sacrifice some image quality when working with superzooms, the 28-400mm f/4-8 looks like a fantastically convenient option for anyone who wants lots of versatility without a lot of bulk. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts on the lens.
