Which of These Affordable 85mm Lenses Is Right for You?

85mm lenses with wide apertures are about as popular as can be, but they are often quite expensive as well. Thankfully, in the last few years, we have seen an influx of affordable yet impressive third-party options, with two of the most notable being the Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 FE II lens and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art. Which one is right for you? This excellent video comparison takes a look at the performance and image quality of both to help you decide.

Coming to you from Dustin Abbott, this great video comparison takes a look at the Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 FE II and Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lenses. While I have always been a fan of Sigma Art lenses, I have been really impressed by Samyang in the last few years. They have long been known for creating affordable manual focus lenses with impressively sharp image quality, but in the last few years, they have expanded into multiple autofocus options without losing that image quality or the competitive prices. Altogether, it is great to see another company putting pressure on the market. Check out the video above for Abbott's full thoughts on both lenses.

I gotta say I'm super happy with my Viltrox 85mm for my Sony bodies. It wasn't that pricey and it's been working flawless since day one
