Little bit of background story on that shot. Col de la Béranne is a magnificent spot in the Ecrins. The climb to the pass is 1300 m elevation gain in about 2 km (or 4265 feet in 1.25 miles). I did most of the climb in the clouds, coughing my lungs up, then emerged from the clouds and starting seeing amazing stuff like this. I have more "classic" shots of that hike with the sea of clouds taken from the peaks, but this four quarters shot of valley/cloud/peaks/sky was unique enough for me to pick it over the more obvious photos. I only have an FZ200 camera, and didn't know about HDR at the time. Today, I might be able to pull a slightly better shot, exposure-wise, but I still think it's a good composition. You won't see this very often in the Alps. And no, I will no photoshop in a mountain goat as a silhouette looking at the view from the right or something :p
PS: yes those are waterfalls coming out from the clouds in the middle in case you were wondering. The Alps are THAT beautiful.
