Hi Jordan! Solid 3 stars from me. I love the idea, mood, composition and abstract feeling of this shot. My only concern is about right side of the frame.
While the left side of the photo works fine for me, with enough details, tonal range and structure, it's the right that distracts me. There's either too much detail in it, or not enough of it. I think that the rock on the right side would benefit from being more surrounded with water, so the rock behind it wouldn't loom up so much, and the water beneath it would be more unified, like a mist. Right now I have feeling there's not enough detail to support the story of the photo, but enough to distract from two main subjects.
If anything is unclear - let me know. I'll try to rephrase, then.
Keep up the good work! :)
I think I get what you're saying. You'd prefer if the right rock was slightly more faint than it is now?
I was thinking more about surroundings of the rock, than of the rock itself. Like the small rock that's looming from behind it, and the water below it (which, for me, could be even more silky without significant shadows). The rock itself is ok for me. :)
