This is a planted birch forest nearby where I live, in the town of Kotka in Finland. The black background is a fir-tree forest that gave the image more contrast + new snow on the ground.
The photo is converted to black and white with Lightroom and I have added more selective sharpness to it with Photoshop and corrected all my mistakes with Luminar 2019.
I purchased my Adobe Creative Clouds membership for three weeks ago, so do not judge me too hard on this ;) I'm an 98% amateur when it comes to editing tools. Yes I need a editing course :)

An awesome subject. My critics obnly apply to some post procession. It lacks a bit of contrast and detail. Contrast in the upper 2/3 where the dark parts have to be black (my personal taste of course) and the snow foreground is a bit washed out.
You are quite right in your comment, that's something I have to learn. Especially as a beginner, finding the right editing methods is feels difficult, but it is a matter of time to get there and find the right key to open the image with.
Thanks for your comment!
If you're a beginner: well done. Keep up the good work. Practising is the only way to get better.
I have quite a lot of experience in film photography. It's this digital world that's right new and feels a bit difficult. However, Fstoppers is a good platform to start :)
I completely agree with Jens on this one. Really nice and minimalistic scene. Just pull the blacks down a little and this is perfect. Well shot!
Thank you for your comment, I like it!
Nice job on this, I love the subject matter. Do agree with just a little more contrast.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it!
