A wildfire-fueled sunset lights a boulder once deposited by glaciers during the last ice age in Lassen Volcanic National Park. This summer, the "Carr" fire in northern California doubled in size blanketing the park in smoke for days. This made for some unique sunset photography. The last bit of sunlight cast a subtle orange light on the right side of the boulder, enhancing the green moss.
This was a case where I had to use a longer lens. The boulder is so big, any closer and it would have stood above the horizon.
