I love the sharpness, colour, light and detail on the eyes, but I find it a hard image to look at due to the out of focus mouth taking such a prime amount of the image, a change of camera angle to put the top of mouth visible i.e looking down at the lizard instead would help.

the main focus was on the eyes, my f stop was already at f16 on a crocodile head that was maybe less than 15cm. either way I could'nt get everything in focus in a single shot.
Fair enough, I don't have much experience with live animals, so not sure if it will work but if it stays still for a while (1-2 mins) you could try focus stacking?
