Thanks. I took a ton of shots trying to get the arms moving but the face still.
I was wondering if you had combined sharp and blurry images to get this... if not, teach me your ways!
Nope, its a single image.
It just took a slow shutter, and a lot of patience. I was also leaning on a rail on the side of the stage to give myself some stability.
I had the camera focus set to continuous focus and kept the focus point on his eye as much as possible (he was moving his head a good bit).
I waited till I could see his hands/ sticks in the air and pressed the shutter. Rinse and repeat for many, many frames.
I didn't know if I actually got anything with the face actually still and the hands visible until I got home and put them on the computer. A bunch were pretty close but not all the way there.
