The first 6 days of my trip were spent dealing with frustratingly rainy weather and long drives in an attempt to escape its grasp. However towards the end the skies began to clear and aurora forecasts of up to kp5 began to appear so I position myself at the famous Stokksness beach for a display that did not disappoint

Love the lights, I know its easier said than done particularly if you haven't shot them before but Id like to see a longer exposure taken of Vestrahorn blended into the image to allow for more detail in the image. Generally this is why I prefer the lights shot with a bit of moon light so the foreground element is not lost.
I agree. I shot a few plates at dusk to use for this purpose but they weren't lining up easily enough and I wanted to make the deadline for this contest. I actually just got back from Iceland a few days ago so later on I'll have more time to try and line them up again
