This photograph was actually taken towards the end of my trip in Iceland. Much of the 10 day trip was not favorable for good photography light. But the landscapes from the Snaefellsness Peninsula have some of the most unique and beautiful terrain.

Driving around the peninsula can be rewarding in itself. Coming from the United States and seeing Iceland for the first time was such a treat. The unique volcanic land was like nothing I have seen before. If someone were to ask me what Iceland was like, I always come back and think of the volcanic rock, mossy covered rocks and mountains on Snaefellsness Peninsula.

This spot is one of those amazing scenes that requires a photograph to be taken. The bright white house under the dark skies makes this image possibly my favorite image during the entire 10 day trip. However there's a funny story that comes with this rewarding image.

About 20 minutes before I took this shot. We found this location and the light was looking horrendous. Half the sky was clear blue and the other half of the was shrouded in dark cloud. The overall appeal of the scene was not looking good for me. But Donald went down to take the shot anyways.

About 10 minutes later of sitting my butt in the car. I noticed the cloud formations started to move and fill out the rest of the sky. Moments later I start running down with my tripod and camera and Donald starts laughing at me running down a slope to capture the impending epic light that is about to darken the mountain and highlight the white house.

I propped my tripod up and waited for the prime light and after I got the shot, boy was I glad decided to run down and get a shot to call my own.
