Przewalski's Horse was at one time extinct in the wild but is now reintroduced into the wild in the Khustain Nuruu National Park in Mongolia. They have long been considered the last "true" wild horse never having been domesticated. However, recent studies suggest that they may descend from previously domesticated horses. Yup, but I also shot some 200 images before a got a usable one.
I can imagine. Success rate on 1/30 for me is less than 5%. You got ,5% on 4 times slower SS :).
Love this. I wonder if it could be even strong if you cropped a bit to make the horse dead center in the frame, and maybe even tried going with a black and white and burning in the ground to create more contrast. But either way, this is definitely a hard shot to get and you executed it well!
Hey Scott, Thanks for the feedback! I actually wanted the horse to be dead center, but somehow I screwed up the crop.. As for b/w I tried, but I liked the color version with the red/green complementary colors better. Also the head is quite dark which doesn't translate too well to b/w (:
