This photo, of a White-tailed Kite, was made at sunset as it arrived at the top of a dead willow tree. As the Kite grasped the top of the spindly branch, I was able to capture the alpenglow on the kite. This photo was made at the Merced National Wildlife Refuge. Nikon D500 paired with a Nikkor 500mm PF lens. ISO 1000, 1/2000 sec, F6.3
