There is no more powerful source of imagination than the human brain.
At the end, the results generated by artificial intelligence are the result of a human prompts.
Now, the visual result of a concept, to be considered as art, requires craftsmanship. Otherwise and in my opinion, it cannot be considered as art.

Lets find a way to embrace new ways of art and making it more accessible. Im sure the painter feared the camera.
Don't get me wrong... I find many useful things about AI generated imagery... I use it my self as a source of inspiration, but not as a final "art piece" ... It can not be considered as art... Since there is no human craft on it. When you create imagery using AI you are kind of a director but not an artist.
It makes art more accessible for those who have physical limitations but all the ideas. To say you cant call it art is narrow minded and elitism.
Sorry but don't agree with you. Having an idea is not art... Crafting that idea could become art.
Again, what if its someones only way to bring their idea to life?
I see no reason to gate keep art or to get so offended at the idea of it.
There is nothing wrong wanting to bring and idea to life.... And it's not trying to "gate keep" art, but to call it art it has to be a level of mastery in the craftsmanship of the individuals or collectives.
