Megan - I have always been a fan of George Hurrell and similar photographers who shot during the golden age of Hollywood. The original idea was to shoot this old school using HMI lights. She arrived at my studio, outfit picked, lights set up..The minute I turned my lights on the power went out in the whole building, and we wer stuck in pitch black with nothing but the light of our phones to guide us. After fiddling with the breaker for about 30 mins, nothing was working and time was ticking. It was too dark to pick out clothes so I grabbed a small black IKEA rug that close to me and one small strobe with a gridded beauty dish. using juts a modeling light to focus..we got this shot.
Post processing was Photoshop and Exposure - took ll of 5 minutes.
