This incredible façade by Jean-Nouvel is situated on 11th-ave, Manhattan near the Meat-packing district and Little Island. Adjacent is a Frank Gehry which is difficult to upstage. But the early morning light creates beautiful, golden specular highlights on the irregular grid façade. The direction light camera-right brought out the beautiful curved form in the building. I found a spot to the side of the busy road and used a tree in the foreground to frame the shot. I waited for yellow cabs to go by to help the golden tones pop in the image. One passed by in the perfect spot in the sliver of sun, which worked out great for visual balance as well. I caught some motion blur to give the image some life and contrast against the static building.
