Wow! Nobody commented here...

:)

😊

;)

You guys should do “self portraits” don’t know that I’ve ever seen that topic for CTC like ever actually

We did do that a few years ago.

What happened with deadline?

Well I wasn't going to until you did...

Eagerly awaiting Lee's falling down the mountain story and blaming Patrick for it, to kick-off the next CTC.

Where do the Fstoppers team ski at ??

voting is closed but you can still submit photos?

Since voting is closed guess people will have to leave comments instead ! better than stars anyway ;)

Lets goo! Stoked for this!

Why is the submission deadline now February 26th?

More time for Comments ... ha hah!

Hey guys, a rain storm made us push our trip back so we are extending the contest until next month and we are adding prizes. I'll give more info tomorrow.

Awesome. Thanks for the update. That allowed me time to enter photos for the first time!

Sorry for the confusion guys. We need to extend the contest. Watch the video I added to this post.

Good luck to all :-)

For contest submissions is there a recomeded size?

Limit 15mb image size.

I hope that the selected images aren’t based on public selection only… ‘haters’ keep giving low ratings to minimize results of threats…

No, they choose the winners. I give honest feedback. If a photo seems.to me a snapshot.... I am sorry, i will rate it as such

mhm.

Hey, I’m fairly new to fStoppers. A few years ago I entered a few Critique the Community Contest and found the Community members voting to be rather harsh, to say the least. Even Lee and Patrick comment and joke about this in most of their contest reveals videos.
I can recall a review of my acceptance portfolio for a master of photography class. My hero, mentor was now my critic. Out of twenty images he paused at one exclaiming … what is this SHIT. This almost destroyed me on the spot. After what seemed like an eternity of awkward silence I realized a response was expected as the image was pointed out to me. I defended the quality of light and texture of a autumnal leaf. To with I was told too, much negative space … get rid of it … move in closer, fill the frame, the leaf is wonderful everything else was crap half your frame was nothingness. Yes, harsh with a capitol “H” at first had it ended there, but it continued with the positive and strengths along with weaknesses. The constructive part of criticism.
Need I remind these Photography Contest(s) are called “Critique the Community” … Photography. * and ** star ranting without comment or explanation is “damaging” someone doesn’t post their image publicly without feeling of it's merits in their eyes.

Thanks a lot for that Paul... a kind person, so far :)
I'm ok with whatever is given... was just surprised by the 'haters' on this platform. I'm a working art photographer. I make art, as well as band portraits, which offers a lot of self express and my own idiosyncrasies. Many of my undertakings, start off with my own standard, of which, is appreciated by a handful of people. Nonetheless, I am actually not bothered, but just surprised by, what seems, to be, a platform of jealous people, or just limited to a certain style. Photography offers a wide range of expression and techniques. We, as photographers, just have to keep on keeping on. I shoot with film, so it's a tougher pursuit. Thanks again!

If a photographer enters an architectural photo competition, he should be aware that there's standards and rules specific to the genre and that ignoring these rules will result in a low rating. With art photography there's a lot more room for interpretation and personal preferences than with architecture.

lol!!
That's a funny statement, considering that, in my case, I entered 'an architectural photo competition' with its rules applied. Furthermore, my entry is an interpretation of the 'standards specific to the genre'. This kind of application, helps to distinguish from typical commercialized entries. You should read the Fstoppers' rules for this contest, before making such a humiliating comment! As I have studied architecture, worked for an award winning architect and use some architecture for some of my art works, I feel satisfied with my entries. Vielen Dank!

All good... sorry for my "humiliating" comment.

I've always watched the episodes, but I just entered for the first time. I entered Star Wars themed photos. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Seems to me as if many people assess and evaluate the subject instead of the picture.

yeah... not sure what kind of 'photographers' are on this site, nor what this 'contest' is then about, if 'the picture', about a subject, isn't recognized in totality, with the focus being about photography, rather than a 'profession'. This contest announces 'architecture photos' not 'professional architecture photography'. I submitted a beautiful image of a Brutalistic building, and people brutally dismissed it, when it has been published in high-end international publications. Nonetheless, it is what it is...

I think perhaps the reason some people rated that photograph poorly is because your background (sky) seems to have a distracting geometric pattern in the grain, a bit like when people use the lightroom/photoshop remove tool and it leaves a strange geometric 'residue' which is sometimes noticeable. I think it's a great photo though, nonetheless.

It’s really neat seeing the spectrum that architecture photography falls into here. I see shots that make me want to buy a house or hang on my wall.

thank you! I have other images you may also consider for your wall! :)

When will the results be announced?

The way this Critique/Contest has gone !?!? Let’s start a community “pool” ;P

Let's party begin!🤘🤘🤘
