This was probably the best image of the entire day. Mike and Sara decided to surprise friends and family with the photos to show that they had eloped. We tried several shots with them holding up a homemade sign that said, "We Eloped," but they seemed too posed and rigid. As the sun was going down, I told them to just put the sign down in the foreground and told them to just enjoy the moment together. I set up a Nikon SB-24 flash on a stand, along with some cheap trigger/receiver I recently bought, and shot some images as they talked and canoodled.
I really didn't know what I was doing, since I rarely worked with flash in the before, but we managed to get one of their favorite images from the day.
Shot with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 105mm f/2.8 AIS lens, along with a remotely triggered Nikon SB-24 speedlight. Manual exposure at 1/320 sec and lens set at f5.6.
Editing done in both Lightroom and Photoshop to balance the lighting and enhance the colors.
This couple certainly didn't mind getting down and dirty :-) Amazing sunset which I bet did not last long, Very striking image.
